Everyone’s safety and health should be protected at work

Millions of workers suffer work-related injuries and diseases, some of them fatal, each year. To find solutions, we must collaborate on a global scale.

The Global Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health at Work is a multi stakeholder partnership designed to generate strategies for common challenges.

Working together, organizations, governments, workers, and employers can forge a path forward.

The Coalition aims to:

  • Foster ​alliances ​at multiple levels
  • Develop ​synergy ​and avoid duplication
  • Unite a ​global community​ for safety and health at work

The Coalition takes a results-oriented approach to safety and health at work.

Share and spread ​knowledge, resources, and best practices

Promote ​global health, decent work, and sustainability

GOVERNANCE

The Coalition is structured in a straightforward and effective way.

The Steering Committee is responsible for providing strategic direction for the Coalition.

It also monitors Task Groups and communicates relevant results.
Members include representatives from governments, international employers’ and workers’ organizations, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), the European Commission (EC), the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), the International Social Security Association (ISSA) and the International Association of Labour Inspection (IALI).

TASK GROUPS

Task Groups translate the Coalition’s priorities into practical solutions. ​

Each Task Group unites partners, builds alliances, and facilitates knowledge sharing around safety and health at work.

Members include international, regional, and national organizations and associations, as well as governmental occupational safety and health institutions.

SECRETARIAT

The Secretariat organizes Steering Committee meetings and international events, follows up on the development of Task Groups, and facilitates communication between the two bodies.

Within the ILO, the Secretariat is housed within the Labour Administration, Labour Inspection and Occupational Safety and Health Branch of the Governance Department
